Hartree-Fock treatment of the two-component Bose-Einstein condensate

چکیده
We present a numerical study of a trapped binary Bose-condensed gas by solving the corresponding Hartree-Fock equations. The density profile of the binary Bose gas is solved with a harmonic trapping potential as a function of temperature in two and three dimensions. We find a symmetry breaking in the two dimensional case where the two condensates separate. We also present a phase diagram in the three dimensional case of the different regions where the binary condensate becomes a single condensate and eventually an ordinary gas as function of temperature and the interaction strength between the atoms. 03.75.Fi,05.30.Jp Typeset using REVTEX 1

The Two-Dimensional Bose-Einstein Condensate
We study the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov mean-field theory as applied to a two-dimensional finite trapped Bose gas at low temperatures and find that, in the Hartree-Fock approximation, the system can be described either with or without the presence of a condensate; this is true in the thermodynamic limit as well. We are unable to find condensate solutions when we consider a scheme that predicts the...
متن کاملMany-body T-matrix of a two-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensate within the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov formalism
In a two-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensate the reduction in dimensionality fundamentally influences collisions between the atoms. In the crossover regime from three to two dimensions several scattering parameters have been considered. However, finite temperature results are more difficult to obtain. In this work we present the many-body T-matrix at finite temperatures within a gapless Hartre...
متن کاملNumerical exploration of vortex matter in Bose-Einstein condensates
We describe a finite element numerical approach to the full Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov treatment of a vortex lattice in a rapidly rotating Bose–Einstein condensate. We study the system in the regime of high thermal or significant quantum fluctuations where we are presented with a very large nonlinear unsymmetric eigenvalue problem which is indefinite and which possesses low-lying excitations clust...
متن کاملQuantized circulation in dilute Bose–Einstein condensates
We compute using a microscopic mean-field theory the structure and the quasiparticle excitation spectrum of a dilute, trapped Bose–Einstein condensate penetrated by an axisymmetric vortex line. The Gross–Pitaevskii equation for the condensate and the coupled Hartree–Fock–Bogoliubov–Popov equations describing the elementary excitations are solved self-consistently using finite-difference methods...
متن کاملDipolar Bose-Einstein condensates at finite temperature
We study a Bose-Einstein condensate of a dilute gas with dipolar interactions, at finite temperature, using the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory within the Popov approximation. An additional approximation involving the dipolar exchange interaction is made to facilitate the computation. We calculate the temperature dependence of the condensate fraction of a condensate confined in a cylindrically s...
